Kanye West film is out of this world

It wouldn't be Kanye if it wasn't something that didn't leave you scratching your head.

Kanye West debuted his "Runaway" film last night on MTV/BET (with commercials and all), but if you missed it -- like I did -- you can now watch the entire 35-minute clip without interruption. (Thanks to YouTube)

Selita Ebanks, who starred as the sexy Phoenix, left little to the imagination in the over-the-top film that included nine tracks from Kanye's upcoming album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.

It's been nearly 27 years since Michael Jackson's revolutionary 14-minute short film for Thriller. And I would say this was worth the 27-year wait for this masterpiece that easily pounced any Lady Gaga or Beyonce music video that we've seen this generation.

So if Kanye is the new MJ of music videos, then I guess Ebanks is the new Ola Ray (the first pop video vixen).

However, Ray's star (er, jheri curl mullet) didn't shine for too long after her breakthrough role. I'm sure Ebanks would probably cringe at the comparison to the former Playboy Playmate of the Month, but what can I say?

In any event, check out the video. Kanye and Ebanks make magic that's certainly well worth your time. My only advice: watch with an open mind.

DSU Throwback: 20 Questions "Homecoming Edition"

This is an old Hornet newspaper tradition at Delaware State University.
It's all in good fun, and based off real situations during last week's homecoming.

4. Who threw their back out trying to "make it clap" at the homecoming alumni party?

5. Wasn't it good to see former SGA President Delano Hunter not campaigning or asking for a donation? (#imjustsayin)

6. Should the Alphas hide their kids, hide their wives and hide their old step show tapes because the Ques are swagger-jacking everything at Del State!? (Rewind!)

7. Which former DSU administrator was killing the Cupid Shuffle at the alumni party?

8. Which well-known DSU alum was caught on someone's RADAR and then got escorted out of the undergraduate homecoming concert by police? (

9. And was it the current SGA President who got him tossed out?

10. Who was scalping homecoming alumni party tickets?

11. Is the cheerleading squad bigger than the DSU band?

12. Which DSU alum told DJ Enuff that she wanted to "cuff his ass" after the homecoming alumni party? (#truestory)

13. How many times YOU going to come to the alumni party, but YOU haven't finished that undergraduate degree? (#imjustsayin)

14. Who walked around shouting profanity in the new student center because they were upset the sparkling new facility wasn't around when they were in school??

15. Was anyone else wondering where the Hornet mascot was?

16. Who was complaining at $30 party ticket prices, but was the first one in line to buy a bottle??

17. And weren't people posing with bottles like it was a trophy?

18. Who was at homecoming with a main chick and a mistress?

19. Should next year's homecoming have a day care for kids of alums?

20. Who didn't attend homecoming, but felt like they were there after viewing (MFeenz) pics on Facebook?

Willow Smith whips up a hot debut video

Willow Smith has done it again.

First, the 9-year-old daughter of Will and Jada Pinkett Smith surprised us with her song, "Whip My Hair."

Now, she's delivered a colorful and energetic music video to match the piping hot track.

I have to say, I haven't seen such great use of colorful paint in a video since...ughh...Whitney Houston's "How Will I Know" video in 1985. LOL.

Check out Willow in action...

El and Chico DeBarge take fans down memory lane

El DeBarge is making the most of his second chance.

The "I Like It" singer showed an intimate crowd at SOBs in New York City last night that he still has it.

But he almost lost it all - for good.

A two-decade addiction to heroin and crack sidelined the popular 80s crooner. Not to mention, he spent 13 months in prison on drug charges.

El hit rock bottom, but he's battled back.

He will release his new album, "Second Chance," on Nov. 30, and it seems like he's had no problem getting those old fans back.

He took fans on a trip down memory lane last night performing hits, "Rhythm of the Night," "Time Will Reveal" and "I Call Your Name," just to name a few. The 49-year-old singer showed no sings of rust. He played the piano, danced and of course, hit his signature falsetto that made him a household name during the 80s. It was like he never left.

Chico DeBarge even showed up to support, and briefly performed with his big brother. (video below)
