Dipset affiliate, King Tut, commits suicide

It had been a rough year for Darnell Brittingham, better known as rapper King Tut.

But last night, he took matters into his own hands and ended his life pulling the trigger of a gun as he sat in a taxicab with cops swarming toward the vehicle. He was 23.

On Feb. 10, King Tut was arrested in Fort Lee, NJ after police found he had a teddy bear stuffed with cocaine inside his vehicle. After being released on bail, just two days later he allegedly stabbed a woman 27 times in Hackensack, NJ and fled. [Both stories originally reported in The Record newspaper, by the way]

Police issued a warrant for his arrest and had been looking for the native of North Carolina, who had recently relocated to Hackensack, NJ.

The search for King Tut ended along a New York State Highway.

King Tut was a member of 730 Dips, a sub-group Harlem-based group Dipset.
